In the Eyes of the Beholder! Kokomo Homes for Sale
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s sometimes hard for buyers to visualize themselves and their “stuff” in a house, which is very important if you want them to fall in love with your house and ultimately make an offer. You have to make it easy for buyers. You have to make sure each room in the home not only sparkles, but also that tells its own “true” story.
Here are a couple of pictures taken from CIRMLS that show rooms in two different Kokomo homes for sale. Each picture tells a story of its own. But that story isn’t the same as the captions that accompany the pictures.
This seems like it’s quite a nice workout room. And perhaps that’s a fridge behind the door to keep your energy drinks and healthy snacks. In reality, according to the caption in the MLS, this is actually a main level bedroom or office! Can you picture this as a bedroom? As an office? If you can’t, you aren’t alone. Most people can’t.
Here’s another one for you…
Lots of nice shelves, a couple of comfortable chairs and reading lamp. Looks like a great place to settle back and get in a little reading away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house. It looks like a library doesn’t it? I thought so, too.
Well, according to the caption under the picture, it’s the music room! I’m sure there is a reason, but I’m not seeing it or visualizing it! I am usually pretty good at picturing different uses for a room, but for the life of me I can’t picture a grand piano or a baby grand in this room. And that is exactly what I picture in a music room. Even if there were a cello or violin somewhere in the picture I might “get it.” But right now, it’s beyond me!
So a word of advice to all you sellers… Make sure all the rooms in your house tell a story and make sure it’s the true story!
If you come across any “fabulous” or “not-so-fabulous” pictures in the MLS, email me the MLS number or the address of the property! It doesn’t matter if the house is in Kokomo or the surrounding areas, as long as it is in the Central Indiana MLS (CIRMLS) I can find it. Who knows, I may feature your suggestion in Photo Friday !

Kokomo Homeowners Reap Rewards When Selling!
Posted by: | CommentsKokomo Homeowners – Sweat Equity Pays Off!
An article in the May issue of Consumer Reports made me chuckle. It happened to be about getting the most value for your car when you trade it in. No, there really wasn’t anything funny about the article. It was good sound advice. Following the advice will surely get you more for your car when you are ready to trade.
What I chuckled about is that when I meet with Kokomo homeowners to talk about putting their house on the market, the conversation always turns to getting their house “show-ready.” Sometimes, it’s difficult to grasp exactly what that means. So I use an analogy that everyone in Kokomo seems to understand – Trading Cars! Read More→
