Posted by: | CommentsWinter has arrived! It may not “officially” be winter until December 21st; but Kokomo’s first snow says it’s winter to me! I woke up to a nice pretty blanket of snow – pretty if I could stay inside! I’m not a winter person, so I greeted the snow with mixed feelings…
The first snow is really pretty and it usually me helps get into the Christmas Spirit. But I knew I had to drive to Peru this morning to take pictures of a house I’m listing for sale. (It didn’t help any when my husband called and advised me that there was ice under all that pretty stuff.)
But “you gotta do what you gotta do”! So I gingerly made my way into town and headed north to Peru.
Once in Peru I had to pick-up the key at another real estate office, go to Ace Hardware to get another key made and head for the house. Luckily, Peru didn’t have much snow; because the house is north of town on a very “windy” road. I finally found the house and much to my chagrin, I couldn’t get in! The storm door was locked!
After walking around the house to see if there was another way to get in and after making several phone calls, I gave up. I made my way back to Kokomo and slipped and slid my way around the northside of town previewing some houses for an out-of-state client. When I got home this afternoon, I could once again enjoy that pretty blanket of snow!
Note: Have you dreamed of living in the mountains? This place is probably the closest we have to a mountain atmosphere in Indiana. Watch for details or give me a call and I’ll fill you in!

From My Front Porch – December 1, 2009
Posted by: | CommentsWith winter fast appoaching, I want to catch the changing seasons in my little corner of the world. My little “corner” of Howard County is in the country, four miles east of Kokomo. My plan is to take pictures of the changing seasons at least once a month and post them here for you to enjoy. Once in a while, I may be lucky enough to catch a critter or two or three, too.
I love this view from my front porch…
Unfortunately, it’s not my pond and I don’t have a “sitting” front porch. (By that, I mean there’s no room for a chair or a bench or much of anything except my rear end.) None-the-less, it is my favorite view.
During warmer weather I like to park myself on the front step and watch the birds, rabbits and squirrels and listen to the sounds of the great outdoors. But today is too crisp for me - bordering on winter “cold”! So I just snapped the picture and headed back in for a cup of hot coffee before heading into the office.
I hope you enjoy my little corner Howard County as much as I do. Until next time…
