Just Hanging Around in Miami County
By BettyThe title of this post could very well be….
The Case of the Curious Curio Cabinet in Miami County!
A Curious Set-up in Miami County Home
This photo is from a listing for a home (mini-farm) for sale in Miami County. What were they thinking? Even more to the point, what was the agent thinking when he snapped this picture?
Is he telling us there’s high water in the area? I’ve heard of hanging a Christmas tree from the ceiling to keep cats and toddlers away from it. But I haven’t a clue as to why someone would hang a curio cabinet from the ceiling!
Even more curious is the fact that the MLS can handle 12 pictures of a home. This agent posted a total of 7 pictures. Two were of this curiosity, one of an antique cupboard, one of the kitchen, one of the house and two pictures of out-buildings. Why no pictures of other interior rooms? And why three pictures of furniture?
Notes and details from the MLS: Small farm w/fenced pasture two story white sided home w/porch. Sits on 7 acres next to a large horse barn and a pole building. Four bedrooms, a large hickory kitchen and a partial basement. 2241 sq. ft., no heat, no air conditioning, gas water heater, 200 amp power box in basement but no power to the house – seller will pay 2500 to update electric. One more detail: The price on this beauty – $187,000 down from $192,000.
Editorial from yours truly: $187,000 for a mini-farm with no heat, no air, no electricity! Who do they think they are kidding? If what the agent says is true, the only way this property will sell is with a cash offer or a rehab loan. And with the lending market the way it is now-a-days, who wants the hassle? Evidently no one - this house has been on the market 521 days – so far!
If you come across any “fabulous” or “not-so-fabulous” pictures in the MLS, email me the MLS number or the address of the property! It doesn’t matter if the house is in Kokomo or the surrounding areas, as long as it is in the Central Indiana MLS (CIRMLS) I can find it. Who knows, I may feature your suggestion in Photo Friday!
