Photo Friday in Kokomo -
Selling Your Home on a Snowy Day

By Betty

What a Way to Sell Your Kokomo Home!

What perfect timing for this MLS photo of a home for sale in Kokomo! It is so wrong on so many levels!

  • First of all, with temperatures in the 80s last weekend, you don’t want your house show-cased with snow on the ground!
  • Next, there has to be a better view of this house! The first time I saw this photo, I thought of someone or something peeking over the hedge.

If you look very closely at the picture, you can see the date stamp is 1/26/2009. This house wasn’t put on the market until March 16 – well after our last snow cover! When you look at this picture, what do you think?

Most of us would assume this house has been on the market for quite a while, when in fact it’s been for sale for less than two months.

If you are selling your house, do you want potential buyers to see dated pictures like this one? When potential buyers see pictures with snow on the ground, they are going to think three things about your house:

  1. The house has been on the market forever.
  2. They are going to wonder what’s wrong with the house.
  3. This homeowner may be getting desperate, let’s make low offer.

The market is tough enough when selling a home in the Kokomo area. Don’t let it be even more difficult by letting your agent get away with putting poor quality or dated pictures in the MLS.
